Sumping Cake – Traditional Cake should You Know

Should You Know:

Sumping cake comes from the Island of Bali. That will be making you miss with this cake. Sumping cake is a snack made from rice flour containing bananas inside, wrapped with banana leaves and then steamed. It feels sticky and sweet. Moreover, coupled with the aroma of banana leaf that gives a distinctive scent. Many cake will you find in Bali, Klepon Cake is one of them. The traditional market cake will not be extinct by the time and still survive although now many emerging pastries processed and presented in a modern way.

Ingredients:

  1. 200 gr rice flour,
  2. 3 ripe banana, 250 ml milk,
  3. 100 g sugar,
  4. 1 teaspoon salt,
  5. 2 pandan leaf, conclude,
  6. 1/4 tsp vanilla powder,
  7. banana leaves for wrap the cake.

How to make :

  1. Boil the coconut milk together with pandan leaf, salt, vanilla and rice flour.
  2. Cook until thick and smooth.
  3. Pour the batter in a banana leaf, add pieces of banana and jackfruit.
  4. Wrap the leaves like a folded envelope.
  5. Heat the steamer.
  6. Steam Sumping cake until cooked.
  7. Ready to serve
